From the outset the client wanted the office to be something special, a place where staff will enjoy working and ultimately succeed. The brief was to allow our imagination go wild and create a wow factor office which was fun, vibrant and unique. This is every interior designers dream brief! With a tight timescale to work to, we began to work up the ground floor master plan. The client made minor amendments throughout the planning process which led quickly to the final layout.
The office is a call centre which has various teams and departments within it. The client had previously struggled with recruiting staff and retaining them, but the new office interior design has meant this is no longer a problem. They are now inundated with CV’s from people wanting to work there and staff feel valued are delighted with the space.
The client used local trades people to carry out all the works. The work was done out of office hours during the evening and weekends so as to not disturb the office next door. It took 5 weeks to complete.
Interior design features include a golf area, basketball net, spin the wheel game, a fish tank between the two offices, a beverage area, feature wallpaper scenes and of course the post box! This was a bespoke piece of joinery which we designed and detailed. Inside it houses an iPod and an iPad which staff can use as a reward throughout the day as and when they hit their targets. We denoted the different teams by using different colours for the desk screens, feature flooring inserts as well as coloured acoustic ceiling panels.
Some buxus ball planters were dotted around the room, just to finish off the scheme – accessorising at the end of each scheme is a must.
The photos speak for themselves!
