Our brief was to create a contemporary yet timeless boys bedroom BUT as a surprise!! He loves music and performing so we took his interest and subtly incorporated it into the design without it being too obvious. The stage area, disco ball, floor piano, bespoke headphone mirror and Sonos sound system are just some of the items we used, all of which could be removed quite easily should he want a change in the future.
The design evolved after working closely with his parents throughout the whole process and then once everything was chosen and costed we produced a programme of works and managed it from start to finish.
The bespoke joinery is a real feature in the room providing floor to ceiling wardrobes with ample storage and display space along with a desk area, double bed, and guest sleep over bed above. The Rako lighting system which was installed as part of the project enabled us to create different moods with the lighting circuits and this included LED rope lights on a new ceiling bulkhead and mini LED dimmable spotlights to the shelving, staircase and storage recesses near the bed. To finish the room off we used a luxurious carpet and punchy fabrics to inject some vibrancy and warmth to the room. The sign on his bedroom says it all! He’s as delighted with his new room as are we. What a lucky boy!
